Barcelona vs Feyenoord: Player Ratings

Barcelona have scored 22 goals in just five games — the first time they’ve reached that mark since 1950.

Hansi Flick has restored the joy of watching this team play football, and for that alone, he deserves immense credit.

Here are my ratings from another five-goal thrashing.

Joan Garcia: 6.5

He made a terrific save and completed 20 of his 21 passes, but his clean sheet slipped away late on. Kounde lost his man in behind, and Joan couldn't hold onto a save he initially clutched, letting the ball squirm loose.

Pau Cubarsi: 8

Every pass and clearance carried a precise sense of direction. 108 of 109 passes completed from 121 touches isn't normal for a centre-back. He doesn't look physically imposing, but he bodies people off the ball with such ease.

Andreas Christensen: 7.5

Christensen hasn't looked the same physically this season, often beaten in duels far too easily. But his positioning remains razor-sharp, and his ball-playing continues to stand out. He's yet to have a bad game since returning.

Jules Kounde: 5.5

Once again at the scene of the crime. His side is constantly where the danger comes from. He was caught sleeping at the back-post, which led to Steijn scoring.

Joao Cancelo: 7.5

Adapted his usual role for the day. With Adeyemi cutting inside rather than staying wide, Cancelo took on the width-providing job instead, pushing high to stretch Feyenoord's line. His defending left much to be desired, though.

Rodri: 8

Nearly perfect distribution (82 of 85 passes completed), sat centrally to anchor possession, absorbed Feyenoord's pressure, and played almost the full 90 while Pedri was subbed at the hour. Stabilizer.

Pedri: 9

Superb once again in that freed-up "Pedri zone." Assisted Raphinha’s second with a gorgeous ball, completed 8 of 8 long passes, and topped the team for line-breaking passes into the final third. All in just an hour.

Dani Olmo: 7

Man-marked individually all game as part of Feyenoord's plan, but still did his job dragging his marker out wide at times to open space for Raphinha’s runs into the space he vacated. A functional, if unspectacular, night.

Lamine Yamal: 10

Seven goal contributions in his last three games. He was unstoppable on the ball: his first-time touch in the buildup to Raphinha's opener was pure class, he curled home a masterful free kick, and then teed up Jesus's first goal.

Karim Adeyemi: 8.5

Played centrally and narrow rather than in his usual wide role, and while there's a case his tendency to risk possession could bite Barça against sharper opposition, his positioning here helped fix defenders and create space for Raphinha.

Raphinha: 10

Rivaldo’s spirit has possessed Raphinha. Both his goals followed the same pattern: fixing the center-back and full-back to open the diagonal, then finishing clinically with his stronger foot. Simply unplayable right now.

Hansi Flick: 9

790 passes on the night, the second-most of his entire Champions League tenure, and 24 shots to Feyenoord's four, all without needing to hit top gear. The lapses that let Feyenoord score late are the only dent in an otherwise ruthless, controlled evening.

Marc Bernal 63’: 6.5

Formed a solid partnership with Rodri. The creativity dried up after Pedri, but Barça looked compact. Also had some good entries into the final third.

Anthony Gordon 63’: 7.5

Gordon only played 30 minutes, but he immediately made Barça play better. So much intentionality in his decisions: progressive ball carrying, quick combinations, and intelligent movement.

Fermin Lopez 71’: 7

The attacking dynamic becomes far more fluid with Fermin than with Olmo because of his relentless movements. He had an energetic cameo.

Gabriel Jesus 83’: 8

In just 10 minutes, he had a goal, a key pass, a shot off the post, and a completed dribble. Flick clearly loves a striker revival project.
