Barcelona continued their remarkable start to the season with a 7-2 demolition of Racing, producing another ruthless attacking performance. Raphinha stole the show with a hat-trick, while Karim Adeyemi caused constant problems and Joao Cancelo added two spectacular long-range goals.

Szczesny: 4.5

Szczesny replaced Joan Garcia at half-time, and months of inactivity were immediately visible. He tried to play it cute in his own box, only for it to backfire and gift Racing a goal. He also looked rusty distributing from the back.

Andreas Christensen: 6.5

He helped put out some fires caused by his CB partner, but was not flawless himself: missed a few opportunities to score and was a bit lacklustre with his positioning.

Gerard Martin: 6.0

That habit Gerard Martin has of letting the ball bounce or trying to control it awkwardly under his feet almost cost Barça a third goal before Yamal scored. He struggled to win long-ball duels as Racing were forced into aimless direct play.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

Played a smart, understated role in Barça's build-up, using disguised passing and clever feints to draw Racing's markers out of position and consistently find teammates in the pockets those decoys created.

Joao Cancelo: 9.0

Cancelo continues to offset his defensive shortcomings with ridiculous output in the final third. Both goals were long-range screamers, and he also showed real progress in his understanding with Adeyemi down the left.

Rodri: 8.5

Dominant even playing at what looked like half-throttle. Racing tried to man-mark him out of the game, but his mere positioning kept unlocking space for Pedri and Olmo further forward. Always in the right place at the right time.

Pedri: 8.0

Freed from his usual deep-lying responsibilities, popping up far higher than last season's version of himself. Set up the second goal's penalty with another one of his trademark through-balls. Niftily evaded pressure to find solutions.

Dani Olmo: 9.0

Superb, understated performance at the tip of the attack. Scanned the pitch constantly to find Yamal's runs, showed game intelligence letting the ball run through for Barça's overloads, and capped it with a brilliantly worked pass for Jesus' goal.

Lamine Yamal: 9.0

After a quiet first half in which he missed a penalty, Yamal stepped it up a notch after the break. He came agonizingly close to scoring on several occasions before finally getting his goal to cap off the game.

Karim Adeyemi: 9.5

Won two penalties, terrorized Racing's back line with his acceleration, and showed a level of physical dominance and understanding that suggests his price tag will look like an absolute bargain if he keeps this up.

Raphinha: 10

Raphinha is writing himself in Barça's history books with these numbers. His hat-trick made him the first player in Europe to reach 10 goals this season: two coolly taken penalties and a finish straight out of a number 9's playbook.

Hansi Flick: 9.5

Left out Cubarsi, Fermin, and Gordon entirely, and still put seven past a Racing side that couldn't escape its own half for 30 minutes. Cancelo, Adeyemi, and Olmo all delivered, Rodri controlled the game without breaking a sweat, and Pedri looks freer than ever.

Substitutes

Marc Bernal 61’: 6.5

Had a couple of good moments releasing the ball in transition under pressure and was mostly in search of involvement in the final third.

Gavi 61’: 7.0

He did not lose a single ball and finished with 100% pass accuracy. Gavi ensured Barça maintained control after a comfortable lead.

Gabriel Jesus 69’: 8.0

Instant impact. He delayed his run just long enough to draw the defenders level, then burst forward, curving his run to beat the offside trap before finishing with a first-touch curler into the top corner.

Alejandro Balde 78’: 7.5

A promising cameo to win over Flick's trust. His explosiveness on the carry is a rare asset and was on full display. He nearly left with an assist for Adeyemi after bursting forward in transition.
